Rapid Weight Loss Tips That Really Work. – Tip # Eliminate Refined Starches

rapid weight loss
Teddy Grandy asked:

Rapid weight loss is possible when you get on the proper human diet that you are genetically designed to eat. In this article I will explain why eating a diet predominately consisting of refined starches, and not enough whole foods, will make it almost impossible for you to easily lose weight.

When you shift your diet to include a lot more raw vegetables like carrots and lettuce, stop eating foods that clog up your digestive tract, and cut way down on your sugar intake, you will start to lose weight fast. The rapid weight loss will partly be a result of old stuck food in your intestines finally being scraped out by good sources of fiber found in raw vegetables.

You see, refined starches are very very clogging to your digestive tract, and these types of foods (and their residues) get stuck in your body, and they start to rot before they are eliminated. Refined starches have had most of the fiber removed from them. Examples of refined starches are, white flour, pasta, biscuits, cookies, cakes, tortillas, crackers, snack chips, most breakfast cereals, white rice, corn chips, ect.

The fiber part of the food is what your digestive tract grabs onto to keep the food moving through your intestines. If you do eat a meal containing refined starches, you need to make sure that you eat them with as many raw neutral vegetables as possible. Raw neutral vegetables contain a lot of the good type of fiber that your body needs to keep the foods moving through your digestive tract without them getting stuck.

Refined starches have not been part of our food supply until recent years. In recent times, refined starches are consumed on a regular basis by most people in most societies. Obesity is an epidemic because of the type of food that we are eating. We are eating a diet that is not really fit for humans to eat if they want to remain healthy.

It takes complex machinery to remove the fiber portion of a plant food. In nature, no other animal eats refined starches (except animals that eat out of garbage dumpsters made by humans). Most animals on the planet eat it’s food unrefined and uncooked.

If rapid weight loss is something that you want to achieve, whether it is to fit into that dress you used to wear, or just look good and impress everyone at the beach this year, then you will want to cut out the sodas and other simple sugars found in deserts and sweets which make you gain weight fast, and cut out the refined starches.

If you need a sweet drink, raw orange juice or raw carrot juice is an excellent alternative. These raw juices contain enzymes, and alkaline minerals in them that will help your body to detoxify toxic fat stores on your body, which is one of the things required for healthy lasting weight loss and disease prevention in general.

You will also need to cut way down or eliminate your consumption of clogging fats like cheese, lard, bacon grease, and hydrogenated oils, and replace them with non-clogging types of oils like extra virgin olive oil.

If you do the things I have talked about in this article, you will have taken a big step towards setting your body up to lose weight without strenuous exercise, and you will also be giving your body the things that promote health, instead of the foods that destroy it.

Quick Weight Loss - Is There Such A Thing?

quick weight loss
Ann Marier asked:

We’ve all been there. It’s a week before the yearly trip to the beach; we try on our new bikini, and - eeeek! Looking in the mirror, we can see that we look like an over-stuffed bag of potatoes gone wrong. We know that we need to lose weight - and fast.

So for days we starve ourselves living on water and strawberries, do more exercise than an over-zealous triathlete, and drink water like it’s going out of fashion. By the end of the week, we’re exhausted, off-color, and most definitely not in the mood to get out of bed - let alone go on holidays. Which leaves us wondering: is there really a possible solution to quick weight loss?

Quick Weight Loss Solutions - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

There are a number of quick weight loss solutions out there for instant view on the internet, written about in magazines and newspapers, and heard about over the school-yard and office drinking fountains. However, many of them are not only absurd, but down-right dangerous, ranging from hour long treadmill runs dressed in a plastic bag, lotions and potions made from spices and herbal teas, and diets consisting of coffee and chilly for days on end. For any rational, health-conscience person, these ideas are enough to either make you shudder or give you a good belly chuckle - but for the crash dieter, some of these ideas are the basis for their next dangerous and detrimental weight-loss attempt.

Why it’s so absurd

When we consider that it has been estimated that half a kilo (1 pound) of body fat equals around 16,000 kilojoules (or around 4,000 calories), we can see why it’s nearly impossible to lose any substantial amount of body fat in a short period of time.

It doesn’t matter how much we run, how little we eat, or what supplements we take, we’re clearly not going to gain a calorie deficit large enough to lose any more that a kilo or two in the time-frame of a week - simple as that. Which makes any quick weight loss theory not only false, but dangerous too.

Any dramatic change in diet, exercise or supplement intake is going to have a negative effect on the body which is why many crash dieters often complain of symptoms such as nausea, headache, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, lethargy, sleeplessness or an inability to concentrate.

Losing Weight - The Effective Way

If we want to lose weight effectively, we need to do it at a realistic pace - say, for example, half to a kilo per week. And to do this, we simply need to eat less, eat healthier foods, and exercise more - simple as that. So if we want to be ready for bikini season, we need to start watching what we eat, toning up and exercising more months prior to our trip away.

After all, there’s no short-cut to losing weight - quick weight loss ideas might be a short-cut to illness, injury and bad health - but unfortunately, not weight loss.

The Perfect Weight Loss Diet

John Howard asked:

A lot of people nowadays are looking for ways to lose weight. Reasons for losing weight vary - some people simply want to become healthier, some people want to look good, and some people need to do it to reduce risks of other health issues. There are a lot of ways available for weight loss, advertisements for weight loss products have become abundant, so with ads for weight loss exercise programs and routines. Another popular way to lose weight is to participate change one’s ordinary diet to a weight loss diet.

There are numerous weight loss diet plans available - and you can choose a plan to suit your specific nutritional needs. Before choosing one of the available weight loss diet plans, you may want to consult your physician and gather as much information as you can to make an informed decision.

Some of the more common and popular weight loss diet programs are those that involve cleansing and calorie reduction. Another popular weight loss diet plan involves the so called five factor diet.

Cleansing diets are essentially detoxification techniques. This diet involves eating combinations of fresh fruits and vegetables and drinking plenty of liquids. Some advantages to this diet are: it provides you with a fresher feeling and increases your energy; it also helps to increase metabolism as a cleaner liver metabolizes food better; and it is an inexpensive diet. The disadvantages of this diet are that it can be a little hard to adhere to and it may leave you feeling hungry.

The Five Factor diet involves eating five meals in a single day, doing exercises of five days a week (exercises have five phases that are five minutes in length), and includes the following in every meal: lean protein, low GI carbs, adequate fiber, good fats, and sugar free beverages.

Calorie Restriction diets are about as simple as any weight loss diet can get. This diet is based on reducing your daily caloric intake and helps in reducing stress on the immune and digestive systems. Going on this type of diet entails counting the calories you take in and eating less of everything. This diet generally includes the consumption of fruits, vegetables, and low calorie proteins. There are no restrictions on the type of food you can eat as long as you pay attention to the amount of calories.

Prior to starting on your diet, you may want to ask yourself a few questions to determine if the diet can also address your lifestyle needs. Here are a few guideline questions you can use:

- What are your eating habits? Do you eat while on the go or do you eat at home? What do you eat most of the time? Will the new foods in your weight loss diet plan be suitable for this kind of environment?

- Will you be able to eat a different type of food from majority of those present at social gatherings? When eating in groups, how do your companions eat? Do they typically eat food that may not be compatible with your new diet plan?

- Will your current home environment work with your new diet plan? If it does not, are you prepared to change it?

- Do your current leisure activities fit into your weight loss diet plan? Do you consume a lot of junk food in your spare time? If your new diet plan does not allow for the consumption of junk foods, will you be able to give up junk foods altogether?

- Do you eat out a lot? If you do, do the restaurants you go to serve food that fits into your new diet plan?

- Is your kitchen set up properly to handle the type of food preparation required in your new diet plan? Do you have freezer space? Do you have enough time to prepare your food?

How to Choose a Weight Loss Plan

Michael Jenkins asked:

In the developed countries the weight loss industry is booming as obesity soars. As such there are many weight loss plans that are entering the market with the aim of providing us a weight loss solution. Unfortunately there have been many diets and weight loss plans that have entered the market that promise fast weight loss, however are not offering long term weight loss solutions. The points below will have you choose a weight loss plan that best suits your weight loss goals.

Firstly a weight loss plan should meet the following needs for you:

- Match your lifestyle and food choices

- Promote healthy living habits including exercise and a balanced diet

- Meet your nutritional needs.

- Be a long term weight loss solution

Things to avoid when choosing a weight loss plan

- Avoid fad diets

- Avoid promises of excessive weight loss without exercise

- Plans that cut of out major food groups entirely (i.e. no carb diets)

- Promote fast weight loss with a wonder drug or pill

Set your weight loss goals

Before you can chose a weight loss plan that matches your weight loss goals and lifestyle you need to be clear about what you want to achieve. Do you want to lose 5-10kgs? What’s your weight loss goal? What time frame? Is that realistic. I would suggest taking a free diet profile at alfitness.com.au to help you with your goal setting to lose weight

Establish a support network

The success of a weight loss plan is accelerated when you have support from family and friends who are encouraging you to reach your weight loss goals. Perhaps look at starting a weight loss plan with a friend or family member.

Keep a food diary

Tracking what you eat is essential. Try this for a week and analyse your eating habits. There are some great online food journals and food calorie counters to help you lose weight.

Monitor your health

This is especially the case when following a restrictive weight loss plan like no carb plans for instance. Its important to monitor lipid profiles (blood fats including cholesterol and triglycerides). Very high protein plans can also effect kidney performance. If you haven’t been following a very healthy diet i would be careful about shifting to a diet that suggested cutting all carbs and only eating lean protein foods. I would check in with a doctor before starting any weight loss plan.

The fundamental basis of any weight loss plan that promotes long term weight loss is by providing you a healthy eating plan and fitness plan. Essentially the weight loss plan you chose should teach you skills that enable you to live a healthier lifestyle when you are no longer using the weight loss plan.. This is the basis of successful weight loss.

Good luck and i hope the weight loss plan you chose enables you to achieve your goals.

How Can Permanent Weight Loss be Achieved?

Monday, February 25th, 2008
weight loss
Steven Dailly asked:

The greatest problem when it comes to diet and weight loss programs is for many people weight loss is not permanent. It could be a matter of days, weeks or months; the simply fact is that most people during this time put back most or all of their lost weight. This can cause anxiety, anger and frustration at the time and effort put towards following a weight loss program that has not delivered the desired results.

So whose responsibility is this far this lack of permanent weight loss; is it the person doing the diet or the diet plan that is being followed itself?

To answer this question fully; involves firstly looking at the psychology of many dieters, as well as the choice of diets available out there.

Most people think weight loss programs have to be complicated to fit in with age, *** and body type. As I am about to reveal many weight loss programs on the face of it look complicated, however this unnecessary complication is mainly to differentiate it from the competition. It can be very confusing to know which diet plan to follow with so much choice out in the marketplace.

Many weight loss programs out there make themselves different from the competition, by using different daily calorie ratios for the 3 main nutrients found in food. The three main nutrients are proteins, fats and carbohydrates. So for example, what you can have is high, medium, low and zero daily calories of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. There is so many different combinations you can with these 3 main nutrients use to make a weight loss plan. There is little wonder that there is so much competition out there with a vast number of different weight loss plans.

So why do so many diets fail people and why isn’t there one diet out there that has proven to consistently achieve permanent weight loss.

The real answer is to turn the first question around; instead it should read why do so many people fail in their dieting. This leads to answering the second question; there isn’t a diet that guarantees permanent weight loss, because it depends very much on the individual who is carrying out the diet.

So instead of recommending which diet you should follow, you need to understand why people fail diets in the long term, this can lead to stopping the cycle of putting weight back on when lost, thus achieving permanent weight loss.

Generally almost all diets work by using the different combinations of fats, proteins and carbohydrates for your daily calorie intake. In the short term by burning up more calories than you intake you will lose weight.

Recent studies back this up; when the popular commercial diets were compared against other over a 6-12 month period, they mostly showed similar weight loss results. One major study concluded that the person adhering to the diet, rather than the diet itself was the main indicator of whether the weight loss program would work or not.

So what this shows clearly that, the most likely way to succeed in achieving permanent weight loss depends on how well you adhere to a weight loss plan in the long term. So how can this be achieved?

A solution to achieving permanent weight loss lies in looking at making lifestyle changes; developing new positive habits that involve following weight loss programs in the long term. The simply fact changes like this simply do not happen overnight and take weeks, sometimes months to become an integrated part of a persons life.

The sad fact is most people there are looking for a magic wand to end their weight loss problems. Many turn to drugs and surgery for an immediate result. Unfortunately drug use and surgery can have side effects or unknown long term consequences.

So the safer and more effective way to permanent weight loss is to reduce your calories and do your diet program for the long term. By developing these habits over weeks, months and years you ensure that weight loss will become permanent for you.

mia_meows asked:

I am looking for some online support, or a chat room, for weight loss. Does anyone have any recommendations? It doesn’t matter what type of diet the other people are doing, I am just looking for other people to talk to while trying to lose weight.
Just to clarify, I am not looking for a diet, I am looking for people to talk to. I do Weight Watchers, I exercise and I have a very realistic outlook of how much I want to lose in a given week. The first answer I got from Lexi is really weird, so this is why I am clarifying my question.
